I recently moved into the suburban Virginia area and worked with Franci and Norm Bissett as my realtors.
Our prospective move promised to be a difficult process because we were situated in another city and facing serious time constraints to begin a new job, not to mention also having a baby on the way. On top of it, my wife and I were quite particular about the kind of home we were looking for - its condition and neighborhood, our need for light and a very private garden, and a general location close to our workplaces.
I happened upon Franci and Norm by pure luck, calling a realtor at random for general information about closing costs in Virginia, and I did not initially work with them until the realtor assigned to us by the re-location service used by my company eroded out confidence.

We worked closely over a period of 10 weeks with the Bissetts. During this period I can only say that their service to us went above and beyond the call of duty. In searching for homes, we found Franci to be an honest and critical eye about important property issues ranging from location and condition to re-sale potential. She has extremely sharp perceptual skills and is a candid, credible communicator to her clients about what she sees and thinks. We quickly felt that we could trust Franci and her opinions; this was not a case of a realtor just trying to make the sale for personal profit with little care for the buyer. Quite the opposite was the case. Franci rapidly learned what we were looking for and then went about finding it aggressively. It was clear to us that she did not want to, and would not try to sell us a house we did not really want. This was refreshing and even unprecedented for us, having bought 3 prior properties where the realtor would try to push certain homes that incompletely met our criteria upon us.

But Franci and Norm helped us much beyond this. After finding us the right home and doing so under out tight time constraints, they served as effective negotiators with the sellers on our behalf. We felt that we had an ally in the effort to get a fair price for the home, and indeed, a shrewd and knowledgeable ally. We were so confident in Franci that we assigned her power of attorney to close the home purchase while we were out of the country. Next, once the deal was sealed, Franci helped us coordinate the work we needed don on the home with various contractors and acted as our local representative to these individuals. This entailed not only knowing what we wanted done, but enabling access to the home, answering questions on our behalf, and monitoring what was going on and when. Here is where the Bissetts really made our lives easier. We could not have moved in according to our schedule, and begin work 5 days later, had not Franci and Norm diligently and responsibly managed the painting, floor refinishing, and roof work in our absence.
This was a remarkable effort, one which far exceeded our request or expectations, and furthermore, an effort that was made once the Bissetts had already earned their commission and had no legal or other responsibility to help us out.

In sum, Franci Bissett is in my opinion a truly superb professional who really knows her business and has the integrity to take personal financial risks to ensure that her clients are really getting what will make them happy in a home. I can recommend her with complete enthusiasm and no reservation whatsoever. If you're looking for a really smart realtor, a shrewd businesswoman, and a really dedicated professional who is also a delightful and pleasant person to interact with, you can do no better than Franci.
